Pumpkins for $1.00?  Really?

Yes, really!  In 2009, we again offered thousands of pumpkins in our pumpkin patch for only $1.00 (plus tax). 

No limit to the number of $1.00 pumpkins you can buy!

Decorating indoors or out? 

We also have giant, Goosebump, white, mini pumpkins (orange & white) and mini gourds (4 for $1.00 mix & match).   These pumpkins are located at the Produce Shed.

For 2009, Mary Ann has added some great new decorative pumpkins, as well as our giant pumpkins at special prices. 

The people you see working in the pumpkin patch and the Produce Shed are all volunteers who are giving their time to help keep prices low for everyone.  Mary Ann hopes you will join her in thanking them for their time & effort.  Without their help, Pumpkin Picking Days would not be a success.l

What are Pumpkin Picking Weekends?

Every fall we set aside 2 weekends for Pumpkin Picking Days.  This a a fun event that many families look forward to every year.   

Pumpkin Picking weekends are a lot of fun!  It's always wonderful to see so many familiar faces and to meet those of you who come to the Garden of Weedin' for the first time.  We hope everyone enjoys the weekends and finds the perfect pumpkin!

Mary Ann & Galen (and Diesel, of course) will be on hand to greet customers.  But did you know that the rest of the people working in the Pumpkin Patch and the Produce Shed were family & friends who volunteer their time and put in some long hours to make Pumpkin Picking Days a success and help keep prices low?  

Pumpkin Picking Weekends:

Select your own pumpkin from our patch.  We have a huge patch so there are lots of pumpkins to choose from.  Take your time and find that perfect pumpkin.  Bring your camera to record the fun.  We have harvest displays set up which make great backdrops for family pictures - perfect for your holiday greeting cards.

Once you've selected your pumpkins, proceed to the Produce Shed to check out our fresh veggies.  We have a variety of vegetables available, everything at our low prices. 

Decorating for fall?  We will have bales and corn shocks available.   In addition to the pumpkins you will find in the pumpkin patch, we have mini pumpkins - orange and white.  We also have a variety of gourds, and Indian corn - regular and mini.   You can choose an already decorated birdhouse gourd or buy one to decorate yourself.

Please DO NOT bring your dogs to the Garden of Weedin'.  Our dog, Diesel, loves people, but he does not like to have other dogs visit.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Some visitors like to bring an old pair of shoes to wear in the pumpkin patch.  If it rains, it will be muddy.

Please DO NOT pick up or carry pumpkins by the stem!!

The stem of a pumpkin cannot support the weight of the pumpkin.  The stem will break off and the pumpkin will fall and break.   We know that the children are excited to choose their pumpkin, but we ask that you please tell your children not to pick up pumpkins by the stem.   We hope you understand that this is our business - not a hobby.  Pumpkins are the product we sell.  Just as a store cannot sell damaged merchandise, we cannot sell pumpkins that have been broken or had the stems broken off.  Mary Ann works hard all summer to have pumpkins for you and we have kept our prices low.  Please help us to continue to be able to provide our pumpkins at our low prices! 

Daycare providers:  Plan an outing to the Garden of Weedin'.  The children may choose their own pumpkin.  We have special pumpkins available - the perfect size for small children.  By appointment only.
